Making of Pochampally sarees involve a tie and dye method where the yarns are dyed in sophisticated design patterns and then woven into the cloth. The cloth used in making Ikkat sarees are either Pure Silk and Cotton.

Activities involved in weaving a Pochampally Saree:

Weaving is mostly an indoor activity. It is like a household enterprise where few members are involved actively throughout the weaving. It nearly takes 7 to 10 days to weave a saree. At initial stage, it called as Ikat, Ikkat and tie and dye weaves. Also, the colors used in weaving are directly from natural sources. It is available in various villages of Hyderabad such as Pochampally, Choutuppal, Siripuram, Bhuvanagiri, Puttapaka and Gattuppal.

This method is the technique of creating bindning bundles or single yarns. It can create beautiful patterns and another technique of weaving is weft Ikkat where it contain various dye patterns on the weaving weft yarns.
